The ultimate duel: Audi, Porsche, BMW, or Lamborghini – Who will take the victory?

Edition 2024 of the Belcar Endurance Championship promises to be one of the most intense of recent seasons, with a battle between prestigious makes such as Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW, and Audi

 

– Six races in spectacular meetings, including TCR Europe, the European Truck Grand Prix, the 25 Hours Fun Cup, the 24 Hours of Zolder and the final of European NASCAR, in addition to a race on a great track in France

– Entries obviously still open and new teams are still expected before the season kicks off

 

Circuit Zolder, April 18, 2024. Another month of impatient waiting … and then it’s that time again: the start of the Belcar Endurance Championship, or the Belgian national endurance championship. The venue for the first meeting of the season is of course Circuit Zolder, during the New Race Festival, about which more news later. One month from the start of the championship, we cast a first glance at the troops and if one thing stands out, it is that there will be a fight on all fronts and that the battle will be particularly exciting.

 

“Before we start talking about the teams and brands present, it might be good to recap the big picture for the 2024 season,” opens General Director of Circuit Zolder, Harry Steegmans. “We’re doing it six times this season, starting at Circuit Zolder during the New Race Festival, after which we’ll also do it at home during the Truck Grand Prix, after which we’ll head to Spa-Francorchamps during the 25 Hours Fun Cup. The second half of the season is kicked off by the 24 Hours of Zolder, after which we go to L’Anneau du Rhin in France and finally there is the finale at Circuit Zolder, together with the European NASCAR and the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux.”

 

In terms of the rules of the game, there are two notable changes, notably the admission of older GT3 cars in the GTA class, subject to the approval of the organizers, and the addition of a TC class, for touring cars with an engine capacity of up to two litres. “Of course, we would like to invite newcomers or teams that haven’t raced in the championship for a while to join us, especially since this edition of the championship will be very exciting, with a very nice sporting battle on the track,” continues Harry Steegmans

 

Audi, Porsche, BMW, or Lamborghini?

 

They are undoubtedly the most prestigious brands in motorsport, and they are making their appearance in the Belcar Endurance Championship again this season.

 

“We are expecting an exciting season with a nice starting field with of course the strong teams from our national motorsport. As far as the GTA class is concerned, of course we can’t ignore Porsche and then we think of Speedlover, Belgium Racing, YDM-Racing by Roos Motorsport, Q1 Trackracing, Meurens… and they will take on PK Carsport who is doing it with Audi, but also working with Russell Racing and their Lamborghini. Of course, there are still possible opponents, but more on that later for sure. Still among the GT cars is the GTB class, with Porsche and BMW of course, but the arrival of Toyota or Mercedes is also not excluded. TCL Motorsport, Tip Top Rent are just some of the well-known names.”

 

Endurance racing, that also means racing with touring cars and we see that again in the Belcar Endurance Championship. In the TA class, BMW and Audi will no doubt also be joined by Cupra, while in the TB class BMW will be up against Renault, and in TC, Abarth will be BMW’s challenger.

 

“In terms of teams, we then think of G&A Racing, JJ Motorsport, VDW Motorsport, GTE Racing, VP Racing and quite a few other teams that will be heading to Circuit Zolder for the first race of the season. Meanwhile, we leave the teams the opportunity to announce their drivers themselves. Meet up on May 18 and 19 at Circuit Zolder!”
